Custom Fabrication of Aluminum Weldment for the Military Industry

Tarpenning-LaFollette Company, Inc. custom fabricated these featured aluminum hinge panels for a client in the military industry. Using .125" thick 5052-H32 aluminum sheet metal, we applied shearing, bending, and forming processes, and then we TIG welded the component with 5356 alloy rod. The final hinge panels measured 32.00" long, 25.00" high, and 1.75" wide, while two brackets measured 2.00" high, and one bracket measured 3.50" high. The tightest tolerance we upheld throughout manufacturing was +/- .03 of an inch.

The hinge panels also featured two TIG welded strap hooks and a natural finish. When the hinge panels were complete and met all requirements and client standards, we delivered the order.
