Custom Fabrication & Assembly of Access Doors for the Transportation Industry

Tarpenning-LaFollette Company, Inc. custom fabricates access doors for all applications, including the transportation and industrial industries. To manufacture the many components involved, we use a combination of laser cutting, bending, forming, riveting, TIG welding, and several different materials. The door skin, window liner, sweep angles, and gussets are manufactured using aluminum or stainless steel. We use extruded aluminum for the gasket frames, and stainless steel (304) to fashion the door handles, hinge straps, rivets, and flat head Phillips machine screws. Plexiglass is used to fabricate the window. Rubber, black neoprene, and fiberglass are used respectively to manufacture the window gasket, door sweep, and door insulation. All exposed edges are de-burred.

We can custom complete these doors to measure anywhere between 12” and 120” in overall height, 12" – 72” in overall width, and up to 3/16” in thickness. The tightest tolerance we can uphold throughout manufacturing is +/- 1/64 of an inch. Included with the access doors is all necessary hardware: left or right door kits, "door-to-hinge-to-frame" assembly hardware, weather seal hardware, and hinge “doorpost to adjustment angle" hardware. We inspect, assemble, and package the access doors in preparation for delivery.
